The choice of the Darwin 102 platform was certainly not accidental when Steve Rigby, designer and above all a great lover of the sea and long voyages, decided to build Haze2. After an Isa (the first Haze) and a Swan (Mist), with this third boat the English designer made the leap into the world of maxi yachts. Built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, the 31-meter-long Haze2 is an explorer that does not exceed 500 GT, suitable for long voyages to little-known and therefore less frequented destinations, but also suitable for less traditional and less demanding cruises in which Rigby can involve his family. This versatility is something that only Darwin 102 can offer, and Rigby, in his dual role as owner and designer, imagined, designed, and built Haze2 in collaboration with Cantiere delle Marche, from the elegant Rolls Royce colors used for the exterior to the interior design. On board Haze2, Rigby wanted hand-painted upholstery by De Gournay and Fromental, and glass and ceramic lamps by Vizzini & Chen.
The elegant furnishings ensure comfort for the 12 guests that can be accommodated on board, without compromising the essential nautical characteristics of an explorer: autonomy and seaworthiness. But that’s not all. Particular attention has been paid to fuel efficiency and carbon emissions reduction. Powered by two Caterpillar engines, Haze2 cruises comfortably at a speed of 10 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 13 knots, and has a range of up to 3,960 nautical miles thanks to her 41,866-liter fuel tanks at cruising speed.
